Are you looking for a career in children's social care? This child care provider are offering significantly higher than average rates of pay, brilliant induction training and a strong work-life balance.

We are looking for individuals who have completed their Level 3 Diploma in Childcare (or equivalent, eg. QCF 3 or Social Care degree etc.), to support young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) in a residential setting. You will be based at a home in your chosen location - locations are: Sittingbourne, Gravesend and East Greenwich.

As a Residential Children's Support Worker, you will work in a children's home, supporting young people (teenagers) with EBD. You will immerse yourselves in the young person's everyday life; taking part in activities, helping plan days, assisting in therapies, accompanying to appointments, cooking together, shopping with etc. In general your role will be to create a positive environment for the young people you support, especially in relation to their health, safety and education. Most teenagers will have a difficult history involving trauma, therefore it is important that applicants understand that they will exhibit difficult and sometimes hostile behaviours towards staff. Candidates with experience with EBD is therefore preferable. As a Support Worker, your role is to understand that the children act these ways due to difficulties in their past, and your aim is to provide them with consistency and support whilst creating a safe environment for them to live in.

This is a full-time position as you will work roughly 173 hours a month. You will work on average 10 days a month, with 20 days off. The shift pattern involves working two day in a row, sleeping at the children's home between these shifts (food included). You then get 4 full days off; hence this role benefits from a great work life balance.

  • Higher than national average rates of pay
  • £60 per sleep in (at least 5 a month)
  • 20 days off a month
  • Reputable company with multiple homes - quick career progression for committed individuals

  • Level 3 Diploma in Childcare - e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, such as Social Care degree (essential)
  • Driving Licence (essential)
  • Experience in an EBD setting is a bonus (desirable)
